Hands Across Kentucky

As we wake up this morning to an “extra hour” to enjoy this beautiful fall Sunday, thousands of our most vulnerable Kentuckians will not be sharing in the warmth and safety of the places we call home.  The numbers of children experiencing homelessness are heartbreaking.  We have almost 30,000 children, ages 0-18, who are experiencing homelessness(please see links below for more details) across our state. Please join NASWKY as we reach out across Kentucky to collect mittens and gloves for every child and adolescent who is experiencing homelessness as the cold weather approaches.
It is our hope that we all can work together to help keep little hands warm while we support the efforts of dedicated coalitions, agencies, schools, churches, government offices, etc., and individuals across our state who are committed to helping our homeless citizens every day of the year!

Our goal is to collect enough mittens or gloves for each child and adolescent in KY so we need your support!  This is a simple gesture that we hope will have a big impact as we encourage empathy towards our vulnerable Kentuckians who need safety and warmth from the impending winter.  If you are interested in collecting and/or donating mittens and gloves for our Hands Across Kentucky project, and a copy of our Hands Across Kentucky flyer, please contact NASWKY at brosen.naswky@socialworkers.org.

Thank you so much!
