Intended to expand the knowledge and capacity of social workers and allied mental health providers to understand the bio-medical and psychosocial issues confronting people living with HIV and AIDS.

1230p – 445p HIV/AIDS, Mental Health, and Substance Use: An Integrated Response

Workshop will increase the practitioner’s ability to more effectively serve clients dually affected by HIV/AIDS and substance use.

The HIV/AIDS and Mental Health Training Resource Center is funded by the Substance Abuse Mental Health Services Administration (SAMHSA), the leading source of behavioral health expertise and innovation in the Nation.   The Center’s goal is to expand the knowledge and capacity of mental health care providers to address the mental health and psychosocial needs of consumers impacted and affected by HIV. This is done as a partnership between Education Development Center, the American Psychological Association, American Psychiatric Association, and the National Association of Social Workers.
